Analysis of GU Xizhen's Thought in Treating Headache due to Internal Disease

Abstract：The occurrence of headaches has close relation with the Zangfu organs and meridians. Professor GU Xizhen thinks the primary cause of headaches is dysfunction of liver,spleen and kidney,and headaches are common in the liver meridian. There are many reasons can cause headaches such as liver depression produce the fire and liver fire flaming ,deficiency of spleen and kidney resulting in brain displaced to raise , endogenous phlegm disturbing head,blood stasis resistance brain collaterals,drinking water rushing on the re-verse. For the treatment of headaches,Professor GU stresses accurate syndrome differentiation,distinguish be-tween deficiency and excess of the disease and make treatment consistent with pathogenesis. Writer tries from the "fire" "deficiency" "phlegm" "stasis" "retained fluid" five aspects discusses professor GU to con-tend for a headache thinking and methods and to discuss professor GU applies the means of purging liver fire,tonifying qi and blood,eliminating phlegm and freeing channels,promoting circulation and removing sta-sis,alleviating water and disappearing retained fluid to tread headaches. And sum up the experiences of pro-fessor GU for clinical commonly used prescriptions for headache.
