Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of benign prostatic hyperplasia treated with acu-point catgut embedding of warming Yang and transforming Qi and warm acupuncture. Methods:There were 90 pa-tients with benign prostatic hyperplasia randomly divided into the control group and treatment group ,45 cas-es in each group. Before the treatment, patients were evaluated with international prostate symptom score (IPSS),and the maximum value of Q (Qmax),post-void residual volume (PVR),and prostate gland volume were measured. Results:After treatment,IPSS,PVR,prostate gland volume were less than before treatment(P<0.05),while Qmax was higher than before treatment, indicating in the control group and treatment group,in-terventions were effective. After treatment,in the treatment group IPSS,PVR and prostate gland volume were less than the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05),while Qmax was higher than that in the control group, with statistical significance (P<0.05). Conclusion:Acu-point catgut embedding of warming Yang and transforming Qi and warm acupuncture were better than routine western medicine treatment for benign prostatic hyperplasia.
