Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical efficacy of Guben Yangzang decoction on malnutrition during a cute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Methods:A total of 160 patients with malnutrition during AECOPD were randomly divided into two groups. The 80 patients in the control group were treated by parenteral nutrition therapy, while the other 80 patients in the treatment group were treated by daily diet combined with Guben Yangzang decoction.Clinical indicators such as hemoglobin, albumin and blood gas analysis, socioeconomic indicators such as hospital stays, duration of mechanical ventilation and cost of nutrition support,as well as security indicators such as liver and kidney function were observed. Results:The prealbumin, transferrin, blood gas analysis and other indicators of the two groups were improved com pared with those before treatment(P<0.05) and the improvements of the treatment group was better than those of the control group(P<0.05).The hospital stays and duration of mechanical ventilation of the treatment group was shorter than those of the control group(P<0.05) and the cost of nutrition support of the treatment group was less than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Guben Yangzang decoction can improve the nutritional status and respiratory function of patients with AECOPD,shorten hospital stays and duration of mechanical ventilation and reduce the cost of nutrition support.
