Discussion on Theory of Treatment of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus by Simultaneous Elimination of Dampness and Dryness

Abstract：With the development of social economy,the clinical manifestation of mast patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus(T2DM) is obesity instead of excessive drink,polyuria,excessive food and weight loss,so it is biased to treat T2DM only from the pathogenesis of "internal heat caused by Yin deficiency" or "Spleen failing to transporting essence and internal excess of phlegm and dampness".The theory that dampness and dryness are isomorphic and can make the same disease is closely related to T2DM,because the accumulation of dampness makes the fluid fail to be transported and then generates dryness,similarly,the accumulation of dryness makes the water fail to flow and then generates dampness,which means dampness and dryness have important position in the pathogenesis of T2DM.So treating T2DM by simultaneous elimination of dryness and dampness can achieve good clinical curative effect.The theory is the embodiment of the holism concept and the idea of "treating disease before its onset" of traditional Chinese medicine and it can broaden our mind in clinical treatment.
