Analysis and Evaluation of Outpatient Prescriptions of Zhuyu Tongmai Capsule

Abstract：Objective:To Analyze the 14 040 outpatient prescriptions of Zhuyu Tongmai capsule of Shandong Provincial Hospital from 2011 to 2013 and provide reference for clinical rational use of medicines in clinic. Methods:The information of Zhuyu Tongmai capsule (including the sales amount ,number of prescriptions ,de-partments,diseases and symptoms) of Shandong provincial hospital from 2011 to 2013 were retrieved from the hospital information system(HIS). The above information was classified and analyzed by Excel spread-sheet. Results:From 2011 to 2013,the sales amount of Zhuyutongmai capsule was 2.26229 million yuan and the number of prescriptions was 14 040. The inappropriate prescriptions accounted for 26.48% and the ex-traordinary prescriptions accounted for 1.67%. The prescriptions involved 18 departments and the neurology department had the most,which accounted for 79.41%. Followed by department of internal medicine,cardio-vascular center and department of traditional Chinese medicine,they respectively accounted for 12.24%, 2.94%,2.26%. The prescriptions involved 313 kinds of diseases and symptoms in 13 systems. The top 3 sys-tems were cerebrovascular system,cardiovascular system and surgery system,which respectively accounted for 73.52%,8.38%,2.29%. Conclusion:The use of Zhuyu Tongmai capsule is basically rationable and 97.74% of the prescriptions were prescribed by western medicine physicians. Some of the handwritings of the prescrip-tions were nonstandard and the rational use of the drug should be strengthened.
