Clinical Study of Treatment of Knee Osteoarthritis by Combination of Huoxi Decoction and Intra-articular Injection of Ozone

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical curative effect of Huoxi decoction combined with intra-articular injection of ozone on knee osteoarthritis(KOA). Methods:A total of 90 cases of KOA patients were randomly divided into three groups,with 30 cases in each group.The combined treatment group was treated with oral administration of Huoxi decoction combined with intra-articular injection of ozone. The ozone injection group was treated with intra-articular injection of ozone and the Huoxi decoction group was treated with oral ad-ministration of Huoxi decoction.The treatment time was one month. The WOMAC osteoarthritis index scores , visual analog scale(VAS) scores and comprehensive curative effects before and after treatment were evaluat-ed. Results:After treatment,the differences of VAS and WOMAC scores of the three groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). For the comprehensive curative effects,in the combined treatment group,the total ef-fective rate was 96.7%. In the ozone group,the total effective rate was 90.0%. In the Huoxi decoction group, the total effective rate was 80.0%. The difference of curative effects among the three groups was statistically significant(P<0.05). Conclusion:Huoxi decoction combined with ozone can relieve the clinical symptoms of KOA,improve the knee function,and the effect is better than that of single ozone injection and individual Huoxi decoction therapy.
