Professor WU Yingen's Experience in Treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Abstract：Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease is a severe disease of high incidence and death rate. Pro-fessor Wu Yingen holds that the disease is triggered by wind,cold and dampness lingering,leading to phlegm turbidity,fluid retention and blood stasis accumulation. In the acute stage,the therapy should be stopping dyspnea,resolving phlegm, and stopping cough, removing pathogenic factors assisted with strengthen-ing the healthy qi,while during the chronic stage,the therapy should be tonifying qi and strengthening healthy qi,with symptomatic treatment. Traditional Chinese medicine treatment can reduce acute exacerba-tion,improve life quality,delay the deterioration of pulmonary function, and enhance physical conditions.
