Distribution Characteristics of Traditional Chinese Medicine Body Constitutions of Prehypertension Patients in Changzhou
Abstract:Objective:To investigate the characteristics of traditional Chinese medicine(TCM) body constitu-tions of population with pre-hypertension in Changzhou,and to study the relationship between the influencing factors and constitution classification. Methods:Questionnare on TCM constitution was applied in 2015 cases of prehypertension and 436 normal subjects. Body constitution was determined,the data were collected to es-tablish a data base,and were further analyzed. Results:The most common constitution types were yin defi-ciency,blood stasis,damp heat,qi stagnation and phlegm dampness,and yin deficiency was the most common type. After performing logistic regression analysis on influencing factors on prehypertension ,there were 6 body constitution types input into the regression equation. The 6 body constitution types were the balanced , damp heat,yin deficiency,blood stasis,phlegm dampness,qi stagnation. Body constitutions showed differences in different gender. The major influencing factor in the male prehypertension patients were yin-deficiency, while in the female was blood stasis. Conclusion:The risk factors of prehypertension included yin-deficiency, blood stasis,damp heat,qi stagnation,phlegm dampness,and therefore the corresponding intervention should be applied according to types of body constitution.
