Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Acupuncture for Refractory Facial Paralysis

Abstract:Objective:To observe the efficacy and safety of comprehensive therapy with acupuncture in the treatment of refractory facial paralysis,and explore the cost-effectiveness. Methods:Clinical epidemiology and health economics follow the principles and methods ,select 61 cases of refractory facial paralysis patients to receive comprehensive therapy with acupuncture ,and compared with routine comprehensive therapy ,clinical efficacy and cost records,comparative cost-effectiveness of the two groups. Results:The cost-effectiveness ratio of the two groups were 2 174.2 and 2 482.29 ,achieving the same effect. The cost in the treatment group less than 308.09 RMB in the control group,and the cost of drug was only 87.59% in the control group. The control group was a reference,which incremental cost effective ratio is 1 439.47,the clinical efficacy of the treatment group for each additional 1% only spending more 14.39 RMB than that of the control group. Con-clusions:Comprehensive therapy with acupuncture in the treatment refractory facial paralysis to be relatively cost-effective when routine comprehensive therapy ,worthy of clinical application.
