Clinical Study of Xiangshao Zhitong Pill for Treatment of Epigastric Pain Syndrome

Abstract：Objective:To observe the clinical curative effect of Xiangshao Zhitong Pill combined with navel therapy on epigastric pain syndrome(EPS). Methods:Two hundred and forty patients with EPS were randomly divided into 4 groups. The control group orally took Omeprazole enteric-coated tablets and Hydrotalcite chewable tablets;the Chinese medicine group orally took Xiangshao Zhitong Pill;the navel therapy group,on the basis of the control group,took Xiangshao Zhitong Pill for navel therapy;the combination group took Xi-angshao Zhitong Pill orally and with navel therapy. The course lasted for 4 weeks. The improvements of symptoms and mental state after treatment were compared by integrals of clinical symptoms(ICS). Results:After treatment,the total integrals of clinical symptoms of the combination group were significantly lower than that of the other three groups (P<0.05);Compared with the other three groups ,the scores of SAS and SDS of the combination group significantly decreased (P<0.05). The total effective rate of the combination group was 90.63%,which was significantly higher than that of the control group (60.71%) and the navel therapy group (61.29%). The difference was statistically significant (P<0.01). Conclusion:Taking Xiangshao Zhitong Pill orally and with navel therapy for treatment of EPS was better than only taking western medicine ,Chi-nese medicine and combination of Chinese and western medicine.
