Pharmacognostic Study on Securinegi Suffruticosa Cortex

Abstract：Objective:Provide scientific basis for distinguishing Securinega suffruticosa Cortex and controlling the quality of S. suffruticosa Cortex from pharmacongnostic study. Methods:Microscopic,microscopic identifi-cation and thin-layer chromatography ( TLC ) methods were employed for the pharmacognostic study of Se-curinega suffruticos Cortex. Results:We could clearly observe the cross section mainly including phellem lay-er,cortex,phloem with phloem ray and xylem sclerenchy matous cell,parenchyma,calcium oxalate crystal clusters and starch grains,etc. Securinega suffruticosa Cortex have securinine and allosecurinine by using TLC(Thin-Layer chromatography) with these two components as reference substances. And the two ingredients showed good separating degree. Conclusion:This experiment was a basis for the identification of root bark , leaves medicinal material standardsand laid the foundations for theidentification ,the Medicinal material stan-dards,the development and utilization of resources of S. suffruticosa.
