Clinical Observation of Acupuncture in Combination with Chinese Herbal Medicine for Treatment of Diabetic Gastroparesis with Spleen and Stomach Deficiency Syndrome

Abstract:Objective:To observe the short term results of using acupuncture and traditional Chinese medicine treatment for diabetic gastroparesis with spleen and stomach deficiency syndrome. Methods:Seventy-two pa-tients were randomly divided into treatment group(acupuncture,ginger moxibustion and Jianpi Hewei decoction) and control group(oral drugs:oral domperidone treatment) with 36 cases in each group. Improvement of two groups patients were observed and compared after treatment. Results:The treatment group clinical revealing rate was 80.6% and efficiency rate 91.7%,significantly better than the control group (58.3% and 83.3%),and the difference was significant (P<0.05). Conclusion:Acupuncture in combination with medicine in treating diabetic gastroparesis with spleen and stomach deficiency syndrome is safe and effective.
