Reconsideration of Emotion(Qing Zhi)

Abstract:In this paper,we systematically review the representative views on the conception of emotion,and analyze the difference between the concept of emotion(Qing Zhi),mood(Qing Xu) and feeling(Qing Gan). We propose that the connotation of emotion can be preliminarily defined as an attitude experience based on the evaluation of the satisfactory degree on the external objective things against own needs. The generation of e-motion is based on the material basis of visceral essence qi ,and is the manifestation of visceral function and activities. Compared with the correspondent understanding of the modern psychology ,the concept of e-motion in traditional Chinese medicine is more applicable in clinic.
