Depression due to Yang Deficiency of Heart and Gallbladder

Abstract：Characteristics of disease cause and mechanism in depression are discussed from the aspect of yang deficiency of heart and gallbladder. Weak body constitution and deficient viscera qi are the basis of the occurrence of depression. Heart governs mind and gallbladder dominates decision ,and hence yang deficiency of heart and gallbladder is the internal factor for depression. Spleen governing thought ,and hence excessive thoughts or anxiety is the external factors for depression. Qi blocking failing to move ,and internal obstruction of phlegm and dampness are the key disease mechanism for depression.
