Research progress on hair growth-promoting agents:Optimization of traditional medications and exploration of novel therapeutic approaches

Abstract：Objective To systematically review the progress in the optimization of traditional drugs and the research on new therapies in hair loss treatment,providing a basis for hair loss treatment.Methods Comprehensive computer-based searches of relevant domestic and international databases were performed to systematically summarize the current status of existing drug treatments and emerging therapies for alopecia.Results Traditional drugs such as minoxidil and finasteride have significantly improved efficacy through optimization strategies including nanocarrier technology or combination therapy.Meanwhile,novel therapeutic approaches—such as prostaglandin analogs,small nucleic acid drugs,JAK inhibitors,and biological therapies—have shown promising potential for treating alopecia via different mechanisms.Conclusion The research on formulation optimization and novel therapeutic strategies provides more ideas for hair loss treatment,holding significant clinical implications and research value.
