Abstract:Mucormycosis is an invasive fungal infection with high mortality.Amphotericin B(AmB),as the cornerstone therapeutic drug, demonstrates potent in vitro antifungal activity against Mucorales. The efficacy and safety as monotherapy have been confirmed by multiple clinical trials and retrospective studies.Emerging studies suggest potential synergistic effects between AmB and azoles or echinocandins,as well as enhanced therapeutic outcomes through combined local and in-travenous administration. However, these findings are currently limited to case reports or small-scale retrospective studies, lacking high-level evidence-based support. This article reviewed the epidemiological characteristics of mucormycosis, the in vitro antifungal activity of AmB,and the progress of its clinical applications, aiming to provide insights and future directions for optimizing AmB-based treatment strategies.
