Research progress in hydrogel matrix tablets

Abstract：This paper reviewed the technological advancements in hydrogel matrix tablets over the past two decades,focusing on research hotspots and recent breakthroughs in drug release mechanisms,material innovations,and process optimization.In terms of release mechanisms,it elaborates on the evolution from traditional models to multi-factor coupled models,as well as the dynamic analysis of the release process through advanced characterization techniques.Regarding material systems,it not only covers classical materials but also provides an in-depth discussion of the latest developments in natural gums,stimuli-responsive smart materials,nanocomposite gels,and biodegradable materials.The production process section focuses on 3D printing,continuous manufacturing,and process analytical technologies.
