Research progress on synthesis and anti-lung cancer effects of thiophene derivatives

Abstract：Thiophene,a kind of aromatic five-membered sulfur heterocycle,has wide range of pharmacological activities.Drugs synthesized by thiophene backbone,or designed and developed by introducing or replacing thiophene moiety in the existing drugs,often exhibit anticancer activities.Thiophene derivatives demonstrate favorable antiproliferative activity and selectivity against various lung cancer cells,including A549 and NCI-H460,and have emerged in the research and de-velopment of targeted anti-lung cancer drugs as excellent inhibitors of the epidermal growth factor receptor(EGFR)and the signaling factor NF-κB.This review systematically illustrates the synthetic methods and the progress on anti-lung cancer of thiophene derivatives,providing a theoretical basis for further development of anti-lung cancer drugs.
