Research progress of the safety and toxicity of mRNA-LNP drugs

Abstract：mRNA-LNP technology has become a revolutionary technique in the biomedical field,especially during the COVID-19 pandemic when SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccines were widely used and largely helped to mitigate disease burden globally.However,with continuous expansion of the clinical applications of mRNA-LNP technology,its safety issues have caused major concerns and urged management of potential toxicity risks.In this concise review,we summarized current stud-ies on the induction of undesired inflammation by mRNA-LNP drug formulations,and further discussed potential approaches that can be utilized to tackle this challenge.
