Abstract:Colorectal cancer(CRC)is the third largest malignant tumor in the world, and colorectal liver metastases(CRLM)are the primary cause of death in patients with middle and advanced CRC.The extracellular matrix(ECM)is a highly active component of the tumor microenvironment, which continuously influences the proliferation, migration, invasion, immune escape and therapeutic resistance of tumor cells through signal transduction. The abnormalities and dysregulation of ECM are highly correlated with the liver metastasis process of CRC and the treatment response of patients. Therefore, intervention in ECM formation may be an important strategy to block the occurrence and development of CRLM.This article focused on the role of ECM in CRLM,and reviewed the latest progress of targeting ECM in the treatment of CRLM,aiming to provide a new research idea for the prevention and comprehensive treatment of CRLM.
