Research progress of Shugan Jieyu Capsules in the treatment of coronary heart disease complicated with major depressive disorder

Abstract：Depression is one of the independent risk factors for the occurrence and development of coronary heart dis-ease(CHD).CHD combined with major depressive disorder(MDD)could not only increase the difficulty of treatment,but also seriously affect the physical and mental health of patients.Shugan Jieyu Capsule(SG)is a traditional Chinese medicine(TCM)which composed of Hypericum perforatum and Acanthopanax.SG has the effects of soothing liver and relieving de-pression and strengthening spleen and calming nerves.In recent years,TCM treatment of CHD combined with MDD has be-come a focus in the field of cardiovascular diseases.However,whether SG can provide long-term benefits for patients with CHD combined with MDD remains controversial.This article reviewed the basic and clinical research progress of SG in the treatment of CHD combined with MDD,in order to provide scientific basis for clinical therapy of CHD combined with MDD.
