Abstract:The incidence of brain diseases such as brain tumors, ischemic stroke,Alzheimer's disease, and Parkinson's disease is increasing year by year, posing a serious threat to human health. However, the presence of the blood-brain barrier(BBB)and blood-tumor barrier(BTB)restricts the entry of drugs into the brain and their therapeutic effects at tumor sites. Therefore, the development of safe and effective therapeutic approaches provides new opportunities for the treatment of brain diseases.Similar to the treatment of other diseases, the translocation of drugs across anticipated biological barriers necessitates considerations to ensure non-damage to normal tissues while preserving their inherent activity. In this review,we have explored the advancements in the application of various biomimetic-modified nanocarriers for targeted delivery to the brain, including endogenous biomimetic nanocarriers, exogenous biomimetic nanocarriers, and other biomimetic nanodelivery systems such as oncolytic viruses. These findings provide new insights into the development of targeted strategies for brain diseases.
