Abstract:Alcoholic liver disease(ALD)is a chronic liver disease that initially presents as fatty liver and can progress to alcoholic hepatitis, liver fibrosis, and cirrhosis. The pathogenesis is not fully understood, and there are currently no FDA approved therapeutic drugs.Research has shown that bile stasis runs through the entire process of alcoholic liver disease, and alcohol feeding can alter liver bile acid metabolism, while maintaining bile acid homeostasis can prevent alcohol induced liv-er damage. This article focuses on the relationship between bile acid imbalance and ALD,including abnormalities in bile acid metabolism related genes, receptor changes, and gut microbiota disorders, providing a theoretical basis for clinical prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
