Abstract：Objective To explore the pharmacological action and clinical research status of hemostatic traditional Chi-nese medicine for treating upper gastrointestinal bleeding.Methods To summarize and analyze the pharmacological action and clinical application research of hemostatic traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of upper gastrointestinal bleed-ing by searching and organizing relevant literature collected from CNKI,Wanfang,and CQVIP databases in the past two dec-ades.Results Most of the hemostatic traditional Chinese medicine has a certain role in affecting the coagulation system,platelet aggregation rate,and fibrinolysis system.Platelet function is also influenced by protein signals in some of them.Clini-cal applications are mainly focused on single herbs,traditional Chinese medicine extracts,and traditional Chinese medicine formulas.The hemostatic effects of most hemostatic traditional Chinese medicine are significantly better than those of the Western medicine.Conclusion There are various types of hemostatic traditional Chinese medicine.Active discovery of their effective ingredients and exploration of new drugs for hemostatic effects will provide reference for clinical prescription selec-tion and development of new drugs.
