Research progress of polypyridine metal anticancer drugs

Abstract：Cancer has caused great harm to human health.The targeted therapy strategy of polypyridine metal complexes has a good performance due to its special geometric structure and coordination characteristics,which can be combined with DNA,protein and other biological macromolecules through electrostatic interaction,intercalation,groove binding and other methods,showing good antibacterial and anticancer activities.In addition,by changing the ligands or modifying the ligands,the function of the complexes can be adjusted,and it can act alone on mitochondria,lysosomes and other organelles to interact with specific biomolecules.This article summarized the research progress of polypyridine metal complex drugs for cancer treatment in recent years,in order to provide more ideas for the development of new anticancer drugs.
