Research progress on caffeoylquinic acids in Lonicera L.and their absorption and metabolism

Abstract：Caffeoylquinic acids are very important natural products with a variety of pharmacological activities and broad research prospects.By retrieving related literature,it was reported that 24 caffeoylquinic acids have been isolated from Lonicera L.so far.Absorption and metabolism research found that the main absorption site of caffeoylquinic acids is the small intestine,with passive diffusion as the main site,and the metabolic site is mainly in the large intestine.The metabolic path-ways include methylation,glucuronidation,hydrolysis,isomerization and reduction reactions.This paper summarizes the chemical structures of caffeoylquinic acids in Lonicera L.and their absorption and metabolism,in order to provide reference for the research and development of caffeoylquinic acids.
