Research progress on endoplasmic reticulum stress and inflammatory response

Abstract：A variety of cellular stresses can severely perturb endoplasmic reticulum function,which cause pathological protein misfolding and aggregation within the ER.The unfolded protein response is a three-pronged signaling axis dedicated to preserving ER homeostasis.The paper reviewed the latest research progress on the complex interplay of ER stress,inflammation,and organismal homeostasis.Inflammation is both a cause and consequence of ER stress,and identifying additional signaling convergence points will guide the development of powerful therapeutics for inflammatory diseases and other UPR-mediated disorders with inflammatory components.
