Autophagy:the new therapy target of atherosclerosis

Abstract：Autophagic degradation,a process that some contents were wrapped by autophagosome,through which realize the cell metabolism and update some organelles.Autophagy is closely related to many physiological and pathological proces-ses in atherosclerosis.In this paper,we mainly discussed the regulation of autophagy in atherosclerosis,which is under the condition of cytokines,lipid,lipopolysaccharide,advanced glycation end products and miRNA.Also described the dual role of autophagy and its pharmacological mechanism,then summarized the relationship between autophagy and targeted drugs in atherosclerosis.Moreover,the regulation of autophagy may be as a novel target for the treatment of atherosclerosis.
