Abstract：Objective To provide technical basis for further research and development of Adinandra nitida. Methods The character identification and microscopic identification were used in the study of Adinandra nitida;Determination of water,total ash content and extract of many batches of Adinandra nitida were determined according to Chinese Pharmacopoe-ia. Results The properties and microscopic characteristics of Adinandra nitida were described;The water content may not be over 15% ,the total ash may not be over 10% ,the water soluble extract was not less than 15% . Conclusion The re-search results provided a scientific basis for identification,quality standard and resource utilization of Adinandra nitida.
