Abstract：Many active ingredients of traditional Chinese medicine (TCMs)has low dissolved or low permeability char-acteristics,therefore insufficient consideration before formulation design will lead to decreasing bioavailability and subse-quently limited efficacy.In this paper,the advance progress in the study of intestinal absorption kinetics of TCMs was intro-duced,the influence factors of TCMs bioavailability based on intestinal physiological features and drug characteristics were analyzed,and new formulations in improving bioavailability of TCMs were discussed according to their biopharmaceutical properties.With the purpose of providing rationale and theory to normatively and modernized study the pharmacokinetics and pharmacy of TCMs.
