Abstract：Rhein is one of the main components of Rhubarb.It is wildly used for the treatment of tumor,virusdiabetic nephropathy,bacterial infection and inflammatory.And it shows good clinical application value.This paper reviewed the re-cent studies on the synthesis and pharmacological activity of rhein and its derivatives,hoping that some useful information can be provided for the researching of rhein and its derivatives.
