Study on release rate in vitro of emodion in colon targeting Huchangqingdu Pellets

Abstract：Objective To establish an HPLC method for the determination of emodin in Huchangqingdu Pellets,and to study its release rate in vitro. Methods HPLC method was adopted on Phenomenex C18 column with the mobile phase of methanol - 0. 1% acetic acid(80:20). The detection wavelength was 254 nm. The release rule in vitro was studied by tem-perature oscillation. Results The pellets almost had no release in artificial gastric juice in 2 h,and can be detected after 5 minutes in artificial intestinal juice,and reached 80% of drug release in 40 minutes,and almost all of the release in 220 mi-nutes. Conclusion The pellets had colon targeting effect.
