Investigation and analysis on the utilization of narcotic drugs in our hospital from 2012 to 2014

Abstract:Objective To investigate the utilization of narcotic drugs in our hospital from 2012 to 2014 for references of reasonable utilization of this kind of drugs. Methods 7 017 outpatient prescriptions from 2012 to 2014 were analyzed sta-tistically. The utilization and trends of narcotic drugs was evaluated. Results There were 10 varieties of narcotic drugs in our hospital. The amount of Morphine Sustained - release Tables,Oxycodone Sustained - release Tablets,Fentanyl Sustained- release Patch was ranked in the top three and there was just a change in the rankings. The amount of Oxycodone Sus-tained - release Tablets was experienced rapid increase. The amount of Pethidine Injection from 2012 to 2014 was the least and was 130,59,42 mL,respectively. Conclusion The use of narcotic drugs in our hospital was basically rational and some issues remain to be improved.
