Abstract:ParKinson's disease(PD)is one of the most prevalent neurodegenerative movement disorders in human be-ing. The pathology of PD is complex and the etiology remains poorly understood. In recent years, inflammation has been sug-gested to be involved in the occurrence and development of PD,by activation of microglia and over - expression of the in-flammatory factors. Developing appropriate PD animal model helps to better elucidate the pathogenesis and screen effective drugs of PD. Inflammation induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)can replicate some characteristics of PD. In this review, the LPS - induced PD models were discussed, and their characteristics and applications were evaluated.
