Studies on quality criteria of total phosphorus in compound schisandra preparations

Abstract：Objective To establish a method for the determination of the total phophorus in Compound Schisandra Syr-up and Compound Schisandra Tablets. Methods The compound schisandra preparations was decomposed by ignition to produce quantitative orthophosphate. The phosphate could react with chromogenic reagent[3 mol·L - 1 sulfuric acid solu-tion - water - 2. 5% ammonium molybdate solution - 10% ascorbic acid solution(1∶5∶1∶1)]. The complex was detected at 829 nm with UV spectrophotometry. Results The liner relationship of total phosphorus was at the range of 0. 800 ~ 2. 800μg·mL - 1(r = 1. 000 0). The average recovery was 104. 0% and 98. 2% ,respectively. Conclusion The methods were proved to be convenient,accurate and reproducible,which can be used for the quality control of Compound Schisandra Syrup and Compound Schisandra Tablets.
