Determination of caffeic acid in Cirsium setosum by HPCE

Abstract：Objective To establish an HPCE method for the determination of caffeic acid in Cirsium setosum. Methods Using quartz capillary column,borax solution for buffer solution,the content of coffeic acid in Cirsium setosum was deter-mined by electrophoresis. Results The linear range of caffeic acid was 0. 121 ~ 0. 968 μg(r = 0. 999 0),the average re-covery was 96. 33%. Conclusion This method had a strong specificity,high sensitivity and fine reproducibility and can be used as a method for the determination of caffeic acid in Cirsium setosum.
