Abstract：Type 2 diabetes,a complex metabolic disorder characterized by chronic hyperglycemia,is caused by a variety of etiology. The apoptosis of islet β cells is one of its main pathological basis,to research and develop new drugs for protec-ting islet β cells apoptosis has becoming a hot spot in this field. Recently,more and more traditional Chinese medicine with protective effect on islet β cells apoptosis have been found. This paper reviewed the protective effects and mechanism of tra-ditional Chinese medicine on islet β cell apoptosis in type 2 diabetes model.
