Studies on antimicrobial effectiveness of Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops(0. 1%)

Abstract：Objective To investigate the optimal concentration of antimicrobial preservative that was added to Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops(0. 1% ). Methods According to the characteristic of ingredients,select several concentrations of antimicrobial preservative on the basis of the ingredients of the product. Test the antimicrobial effectiveness of antimicrobial preservatives at different ratio. Inoculate the concentration of test microorganisms to the products,then estimate the viable microorganisms in different times. Results The growth of test microorganisms were inhibited effectively by Sodium Hyalur-onate Eye Drops possess of 0. 005% benzalkonium chloride which was also the minimum effective dosage. Conclusion 0. 005% benzalkonium chloride can be used as antimicrobial preservative for Sodium Hyaluronate Eye Drops(0. 1% ).
