Quality standard research for the Shanzha(hawthorn)extracts

Abstract：Objective To research a method for the quality control of Shanzha(hawthorn)extracts. Methods The quality control of extracts from Shanzha was carried out through TLC,titration,UV and HPLC - FP. Results The experi-mental sample and reference herb in TLC showed the same colored spots in the same position. Organic acid content by titra-tion was more than 15% ,total flavonoid content by UV was more than 8% ;HPLC - FP exhibited five characteristic peaks, the relative retention time of each peak was within the range of ± 5% of the reference value. Conclusion The method can be used for the quality control of Shanzha(hawthorn)extracts.
