Abstract：Objective To ascertain the formulation and preparation of Pioglitazone/Metformin Sustained-release Tab-lets. Methods The releasing rate and dissolution rate were used as indicators to investigate the formulation and preparation of metformin layer as well as pioglitazone layer,and to investigate the releasing rate of Pioglitazone/Metformin Sustained-release Tablets. Results The release behavior in vitro of sustained release layer was resemble to Glucophage XR. Though the behavior of quick release layer wasn′t resemble to the model drug,the cumulative amount of dissolution of 30 min was similar. Conclusion The formulation of Pioglitazone/Metformin Sustained-release Tablets were feasible,and the process was reasonable.
