The effect of hyPochlorous acid on flesh - eating infection

Abstract:Flesh — eating infection refers to necrotizing fasciitis caused by many types of bacteria. It is the generic term for Streptococcus and those bacteria that can lead to muscle injury. It is hard to distinguish flesh — eating infection. The inci-dence of flesh — eating infection is increasing annually with high mortality rate. Common antibiotic therapy has little effect on flesh — eating infection. Hypochlorous acid can exert antimicrobial activity by destroying biomembrane,repairing wound and promoting tissue regeneration. This paper summarized the important role of hypochlorous acid on the patientsˊ recovery from flesh — eating infection.
