Studies on chemical constituents of Excoecaria cochinchinensis

Abstract：Objective To study the chemical constituents of the leaves and small branches of Excoecaria cochinchinen-sis. Methods The plant was extracted with ethanol(95% V∕ V)and the extract was separated by column chromatography of silica gel,sephadex LH — 20,and MCI gel. The structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic meth-ods. Results Nine compounds were obtained and were established as baccatin,ursolic acid,agallochin J,agallochin K, kaempferol,luteolin,excolabdone A,β — sitosterol and daucosterine. Conclusion Compounds 1 ~ 6 were isolated from E. cochinchinensis for the first time.
