The effects of Jieyufang on the content of monoamine neurotransmitter and monoamine oxidase in the brain of dePressive modeI mouse

Abstract：Pbjective To study the mechanism of antidepressant effect of Jieyufang. Methods To study the possible mechanism,the following methods had been carried out:the content of monoamine neurotransmitter was determined by enzyme—linked immunosorbent assay( ELISA);The content of monoamine oxidase in the mouse brain was determined by spectropho-tometry. ResuIts In the Jieyufang groupⅠ,Ⅱthe content of 5—HT,DA and NE in the brain increased significantly(p<0. 01, p<0. 05);The content of MAO in the brain decreased significantly(p<0. 01,p<0. 05). ConcIusion The mechanism of antidepressant may be associated with decrease the activity of MAO,increase the concentration of 5 —HT,NE,DA in the brain.
