Current progress on pulmonary drug delivery

Abstract：This paper aimed to introduce recent achievements of pulmonary drug delivery. By referring the recent do-mestic and international literatures,this review summarized the progress of local and systemic treatment in pulmonary drug delivery. The structure and physiology of respiratory tract were expounded in detail. The factors influencing drug absorption were illustrated from the angles of physiology,drug and pharmacy. Pulmonary drug delivery displays unique advantages in physiology and demonstrates more and more bright prospects with the development of formulations and inhalers.
