Determination of salvianolic acid B in Tongjingting Ointment by HPLC

Abstract：Objective To establish a method for the determination of salvianolic acid B in Tongjingting Oint-ment. Methods The HPLC procedure was performed on the chromatographic column of Diamonsil C18(4. 6 mm × 250 mm, 5 μm),the mobile phase was a mixture of methanol-acetonitrile-formic acid-water(30:10:1:59),the flow rate was 1. 0 mL·min-1 and the detection wavelength was 286 nm. Results Salvianolic acid B showed a good relationship with peak ar-ea at a range from 0. 525 μg to 2. 625 μg,and the correlation coefficients were 0. 999 9,the average recovery of scutellarin was 98. 2%( RSD=0. 81%). Conclusion The method was simple and reliable,accurate and sensitive and specific which can be used effectively for the quality control of Tongjingting Ointment.
