Abstract：The epidermal growth factor receptor is the cell-surface receptor for members of the epidermal growth factor family of extracellular protein ligands. The overexpression and/or mutation of the epidermal growth factor receptor( EGFR) tyrosine kinase has been observed in many human solid tumors. Small molecular inhibitors that attenuate the ability of EGFR had become an important class of potential anticancer drugs. This article gave an overview of reports on EGFR and its inhibi-tors.
