Abstract:The development of the automotive industry imposes extremely high requirements on the cleanliness of steel for automotive panels, and the total oxygen content in the tundish molten steel can effectively characterize its oxide inclusion level. The IF steel smelting process was optimized by controlling the carbon content at the end of the converter, improving the ladle top slag conditioning process, adjusting the RH furnace pressure drop rate, and implementing forced decarburization techniques, significantly reducing the total oxygen content in the tundish molten steel. The total oxygen content in the continuous casting tundish decreased from 0.002 438%to 0.001 961%,resulting in a significant improvement in molten steel cleanliness. The inclusion defect rate of O5-grade automotive sheet steel for key customers after rolling was reduced by 54.07%,greatly enhancing the quality of steel for automotive panels.
