Application of Disc Dryer in the North Area of TISCO Coking Plant Ammonium Sulphate Production Process

Abstract：The advantages and disadvantages of the vibrating fluidized bed and disc dryer used in the ammonium sulfate drying systems of coking enterprises are analyzed and compared.The main modifications involved in adding a disc dryer to the ammonium sulfate process in the northern area of the Taiyuan Iron and Steel(TISCO)coking plant are summarized.Based on on-site conditions,the heating,cooling,and exhaust gas recovery systems of the drying system were modified,and the disc dryer unit itself was optimized and upgraded,thereby increasing the single-machine drying capacity for ammonium sulfate.After the modifications,steam consumption was reduced,exhaust gas emissions during the drying process were significantly decreased,the on-site environment was markedly improved,workers' labor intensity was reduced,and the energy-saving effect was significant.
