Abstract:The shape of the roughing transfer bar in hot continuous rolling can affect the entry position of the rolled material at the finishing vertical rolls, thereby influencing the roll gap level adjustment of the rolling mill. This paper uses the ABAQUS finite element software to establish a finite element simulation model of the entry vertical edger of the finishing mill and the transfer bar from rough rolling.Based on the working condition parameters, experiments are designed, and simulations are conducted to calculate the displacement of the slab's head after passing through the vertical edger, considering different shapes and postures of the incoming intermediate slabs.A multivariate linear regression method is used to establish a model for the transverse offset of the transfer bar's head entering the finishing mill. Then, based on the transverse offset results, the roll gap adjustment value of the F1 stand is calculated using the roll deformation theory model. The relevant results have been applied to the 1 580 hot rolling production line of Ma'anshan Iron and Steel, improving the strip deviation at the head during the finishing process.
