Abstract:As one of measures to reduce cost, high proportion of Sierra Leone ore in the sinter is very important in short term. Due to the poor high temperature metallurgical property, the burden design and stable operation of 3 200 m3 BF was affected by the sinter with high Sierra Leone ore. By analyzing the high temperature metallurgical properties of the sinter, pellet and lump ore used and the demands of reasonable burden design and under current conditions of raw material and fuel, the feasible burden design of Jinan Steel’ s 3 200 m3 BF is 75%of the sinter from the 400 m2 sinter machine+25%of the pellet and the lump ore. The burden structure can not only meet the normal smelting requirements for blast furnace (including alkalinity, yield, higher Al2O3 in slag and so on), but also reduce the charging costs.
